Commercially Pure Nickel 200/201 Fittings for Caustic and Reducing Environments

MicroTech Stainless Steel Co. offers premium Commercially Pure Nickel Pipe Fittings in Nickel 200 (UNS N02200) and Nickel 201 (UNS N02201) grades, engineered for superior performance in caustic soda, alkaline solutions, and reducing acid environments. These nickel-chromium-free materials provide exceptional resistance to caustic alkalis at all concentrations and temperatures, making them the material of choice for chlor-alkali plants and chemical processing.
Nickel 200 contains 99.6% minimum nickel with controlled carbon content (≤0.15%), while Nickel 201 is the low-carbon variant (≤0.02%) designed to resist graphitization and embrittlement above 600°F (315°C). Both grades offer excellent corrosion resistance to sodium hydroxide (caustic soda), potassium hydroxide, organic acids, neutral and alkaline salts, and dry fluorine and hydrogen fluoride gases.
Our nickel fittings are manufactured to ASME B16.9 and ASTM B366 standards in butt weld configuration including elbows, tees, reducers, caps, and stub ends. Available in sizes from 1/2" to 12", each fitting undergoes comprehensive testing including PMI verification, mechanical testing, and dimensional inspection to ensure reliable performance in chlor-alkali production, caustic processing, chemical manufacturing, and aerospace applications requiring high purity and reducing environment resistance.
Exceptional resistance to sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) and potassium hydroxide at all concentrations from dilute to anhydrous and temperatures up to boiling point.
Nickel 201 (low-carbon) specifically designed for temperatures above 600°F (315°C) to resist graphitization and intergranular embrittlement during elevated temperature service.
99.6% minimum nickel content provides maximum corrosion resistance and material purity. Suitable for applications requiring minimal contamination and trace element control.
Outstanding performance in reducing acids and non-oxidizing environments. Superior to stainless steels in hydrochloric acid (cool, dilute), sulfuric acid (dilute), and reducing salts.
Excellent resistance to dry fluorine, hydrogen fluoride gas, and chlorine at ambient temperatures. Unique among common structural metals for dry HF gas service.
Good weldability, formability, and machinability. Can be welded using standard procedures with matching filler metal (AWS ERNi-1). No post-weld heat treatment required.
Caustic soda production, membrane cell rooms, brine systems, caustic evaporators, electrolytic cells, and sodium hydroxide concentration systems in chlorine-caustic plants.
Caustic processing equipment, sodium hydroxide handling, potassium hydroxide systems, alkaline salt solutions, and reducing acid environments (dilute HCl, H2SO4).
Food-grade caustic cleaning systems, soap manufacturing, fat splitting operations, edible oil refining, and food processing equipment requiring high-purity materials.
Kraft pulping digesters, white liquor systems, green liquor handling, caustic recovery, black liquor evaporators, and alkaline pulping chemical processing.
High-purity process equipment, pharmaceutical synthesis reactors, API manufacturing in reducing environments, and clean-in-place (CIP) caustic systems.
Rocket motor cases, spacecraft components, aerospace fasteners requiring non-magnetic properties, cryogenic applications, and high-temperature vacuum furnace fixtures.
