Lightweight Corrosion-Resistant Aluminium Alloy Fittings for Diverse Applications

MicroTech Stainless Steel Co. offers premium Aluminium Pipe Fittings in 6061-T6, 6063-T6, 5083-H116, and 5086-H116 alloys, engineered for applications requiring maximum weight reduction combined with good corrosion resistance, thermal conductivity, and electrical conductivity. With density one-third that of steel (2.7 g/cm³ vs 7.85 g/cm³), aluminium fittings enable significant weight savings in transportation, aerospace, cryogenic, and structural applications.
Alloy 6061-T6 is the most versatile structural aluminium offering good strength (45 ksi tensile), excellent corrosion resistance, and superior weldability. Alloy 6063-T6 provides excellent extrudability and finishing characteristics for architectural applications. Marine-grade 5083-H116 and 5086-H116 alloys offer the highest strength among non-heat-treatable aluminium alloys with exceptional resistance to seawater corrosion and excellent weldability.
Our aluminium fittings are manufactured to ASME B16.9 and ASTM B361 standards in butt weld and socket weld configurations including elbows, tees, reducers, caps, and stub ends. Available in sizes from 1/2" to 12", each fitting undergoes comprehensive testing including chemical composition analysis, mechanical testing, dimensional inspection, and surface quality verification to ensure reliable performance in transportation, food processing, cryogenic systems, architectural, and marine applications.
Density of 2.7 g/cm³ provides 66% weight reduction compared to steel. Critical for transportation, aerospace, racing, and mobile equipment where weight directly impacts fuel efficiency and performance.
Passive aluminium oxide film forms naturally providing excellent atmospheric corrosion resistance. Marine grades 5083/5086 offer superior seawater and salt spray resistance without coating.
Increases in strength and ductility at cryogenic temperatures down to -452°F (-269°C). No brittle transition temperature makes aluminium ideal for LNG, liquid nitrogen, and space applications.
Thermal conductivity 5 times greater than steel enables efficient heat transfer in heat exchangers, refrigeration, HVAC, and cooling systems with reduced wall thickness.
Approximately 60% of copper conductivity at one-third the weight. Widely used in electrical bus bars, power transmission, and electronics requiring lightweight conductivity.
Infinitely recyclable without loss of properties. Recycling requires only 5% of the energy needed to produce primary aluminium, making it highly sustainable and environmentally friendly.
Automotive fuel systems, truck bodies, trailer frames, rail transport, bus structures, recreational vehicles, and lightweight chassis components for improved fuel efficiency.
Aircraft structural components, fuel tanks, hydraulic lines, cargo systems, satellite structures, rocket fuel tanks, and space vehicle components requiring extreme weight reduction.
Food processing equipment, beverage production lines, dairy systems, brewery piping, CO2 distribution, soft drink manufacturing, and pharmaceutical clean utilities requiring non-toxic materials.
LNG transfer lines, liquid nitrogen systems, cryogenic storage tanks, industrial gas distribution, superconducting magnet cooling, and low-temperature research equipment.
High-speed craft superstructures, shipboard piping, offshore platforms (non-hydrocarbon), gangways, yacht fittings, and marine architectural components (5083/5086 marine grades).
Building facades, curtain walls, handrails, structural glazing systems, pressure piping, compressed air distribution, and HVAC systems requiring aesthetic finish (6063 alloy).
