Product Overview

MicroTech Stainless Steel Co. supplies high-quality Copper Nickel Pipe Fittings specifically engineered for exceptional seawater corrosion resistance and marine applications. Available in 90/10 (C70600) and 70/30 (C71500) grades, our copper-nickel fittings provide outstanding performance in seawater cooling systems, marine piping, offshore platforms, and desalination plants.

Copper-nickel alloys offer unique advantages including excellent resistance to seawater corrosion, biofouling resistance due to copper content, good thermal conductivity, and immunity to stress corrosion cracking. The 90/10 grade (10% nickel) is ideal for general seawater service, while the 70/30 grade (30% nickel) provides enhanced corrosion resistance for high-velocity seawater and polluted harbor waters.

Our fittings are manufactured to ASME B16.9, ASTM B466, and ASTM B467 standards, available in butt weld configuration including elbows, tees, reducers, and caps in sizes from 1/2" to 12". Each fitting undergoes comprehensive testing including chemical analysis, hydrostatic testing, and dimensional verification to ensure reliable long-term performance in marine environments.

Key Features & Benefits

Excellent Seawater Resistance

Outstanding corrosion resistance in seawater, brackish water, and marine atmospheres. Corrosion rates typically less than 0.025 mm/year in clean seawater.

Biofouling Resistance

Natural resistance to marine organism attachment and microbial-induced corrosion. Copper content provides antimicrobial properties that inhibit bacterial growth and marine fouling.

Immunity to SCC

Complete immunity to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking, unlike stainless steels. No risk of premature failure in high-chloride seawater environments.

Good Thermal Conductivity

Excellent heat transfer properties make copper-nickel ideal for heat exchangers and seawater cooling systems. Thermal conductivity superior to stainless steel.

Easy Fabrication

Excellent weldability, formability, and machinability. Can be welded using GTAW, GMAW processes without preheating requirements.

Long Service Life

Proven track record of 30+ years service life in marine applications. Lower lifecycle costs due to reduced maintenance and extended replacement intervals.

Industrial Applications

Marine Engineering

Seawater piping systems, shipboard cooling water, ballast systems, firefighting systems, marine sanitation, and naval vessel piping.

Offshore Platforms

Seawater cooling systems, firewater systems, ballast water piping, and offshore platform utility piping exposed to seawater.

Desalination Plants

Seawater intake systems, low-pressure piping, brine disposal, and auxiliary systems in RO and thermal desalination facilities.

Power Plants

Seawater cooling systems, condenser tubing, circulating water systems, and coastal power plant intake/outfall piping.

Coastal Industrial Facilities

Seawater cooling for refineries, chemical plants, LNG terminals, and other coastal industrial facilities requiring reliable seawater service.

Aquaculture & Mariculture

Fish farming systems, hatcheries, seawater circulation systems, and marine aquaculture facilities requiring corrosion-resistant piping.
