Premium Nickel-Copper Alloy Pipe Fittings for Seawater & Hydrofluoric Acid Service

MicroTech Stainless Steel Co. supplies high-performance Monel Pipe Fittings in Monel 400 and Monel K-500 grades, engineered for exceptional corrosion resistance in seawater, hydrofluoric acid, and reducing acid environments. Monel nickel-copper alloys combine outstanding seawater corrosion resistance with unique resistance to HF acid, making them indispensable for marine engineering, chemical processing, and petroleum refining applications.
Monel 400 is a solid-solution alloy providing excellent corrosion resistance from strongly oxidizing to strongly reducing conditions, with particular superiority in seawater, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. Monel K-500 offers the same corrosion resistance with approximately twice the strength achieved through age-hardening, ideal for high-stress applications in corrosive environments.
Our fittings are manufactured to ASME B16.9, ASTM B366, and MSS SP-43 standards in butt weld configuration including elbows, tees, reducers, caps, and stub ends. Available in sizes from 1/2" to 12", each fitting undergoes comprehensive testing including PMI verification, mechanical testing, and corrosion testing to ensure compliance with NACE MR0175 and industry specifications for reliable performance in critical marine and chemical applications.
Outstanding corrosion resistance in seawater and brackish water at all velocities. Copper content provides immunity to chloride pitting and SCC that affects stainless steels.
Superior resistance to hydrofluoric acid at all concentrations and temperatures. One of very few materials safe for HF alkylation units and fluorine production.
Excellent resistance to sulfuric acid below 85% concentration and hydrochloric acid under reducing conditions. Superior to stainless steels in deaerated acids.
Monel K-500 provides approximately 2x yield strength of Monel 400 through age-hardening. Ideal for high-stress marine pump shafts, valve stems, and fasteners.
Natural resistance to marine organism attachment and biological fouling. Copper content provides antimicrobial properties inhibiting bacterial growth in seawater systems.
Maintains excellent ductility at cryogenic temperatures down to -320°F. No ductile-to-brittle transition for LNG and cryogenic applications.
Seawater piping, marine propulsion systems, offshore platform equipment, subsea pipelines, and naval vessel piping requiring seawater corrosion resistance.
HF alkylation units, sour gas handling, offshore platform equipment, subsea wellhead components, and produced water systems.
Hydrofluoric acid systems, chlorine production, fluorine manufacturing, uranium processing, and chemical transfer systems handling aggressive acids.
HF alkylation units, crude distillation, sour water systems, desalter equipment, and hydrogen fluoride regeneration systems.
Seawater intake systems, RO membrane housings, brine concentrators, and seawater evaporators requiring long-term seawater resistance.
Seawater pump components, valve trim for corrosive service, pump casings, and high-pressure seawater systems in marine and chemical applications.
